Looking back it&#39;s hard to believe we have come this far as it&#39;s easy to take it for granted. This time last year there was ONE DeFi application.</p> <p>Since then we have seen huge partnerships and an ever expanding suite of amazing DApps. And yet, this is only the beginning. Algorand has only been on mainnet for 3 short years. It is still an infant!</p> <p>Since being part of the Algorand community I&#39;ve met some of the most intelligent, generous, kind, and inspiring people. I&#39;m so excited to be a part of this experiment and journey to make the world a better and fairer place for all. This is the main reason I became so interested in blockchain, it has the potential to revolutionize the world and how we interact with government, institutions, and each other.</p> <p>The Algorand mission is to facilitate global trust through decentralization, enable simple designs that drive adoption by billions, and produce elegant technology that eliminates barriers to prosperity for all. Anyone off of the street should have access to the same sophisticated financial tools that right now only the elites have.
